Q: How much do general admission tickets cost?
A: Adults: $42 per person
Children 6 – 16 years (inclusive): $15 per person
Children 5 years and younger: Free
Q: How much does a braai spot cost?
A: $60
Q: Can I purchase general admission tickets and not a braai spot?
A: Yes, if you do not want to take part in the braai you can buy general admission only.
Q: What do I get when I purchase a general admission ticket?
A: General admission allows entrance into the grounds for the entire day. Live entertainment starts and food stalls are open from 12h00 and will conclude with the Bok van Blerk concert in the evening.
Q: Can I purchase a braai spot and not general admission tickets?
A: No, each person on a braai spot has to purchase a general admission ticket as the show will take place on the same grounds. A braai spot ticket on it’s own will not allow entrance into the stadium.
Q: What do I get when I purchase a braai spot?
A: A braai spot is an area of 3m X 2m to take part in the biggest braai record attempt. Each braai spot may have a maximum of 6 people (plus 1 minor) who’s food will be prepared and the following will be supplied: braai and grid, charcoal, firelighter (Blitz).
Q: Can I choose my braai spot?
A: Yes, spots can be chosen, but are not guaranteed. If the required spot is not available, a spot as close as possible will be allocated.
Q: How many people’s food may be prepared on a braai spot?
A: A maximum of 6 people’s (plus 1 minor) food may be prepared on 1 braai spot.
Q: May braaiers prepare food for people who are not booked on braai spots?
A: NO, it will not be possible as equipment and charcoal supplied can not cater for more than 6 people. Eg, 15 people’s food will need 3 braai spots.
Q: May I bring my own charcoal and mobile braai into the stadium?
A: No, for health and safety reasons it is not allowed and will be confiscated during bag searches. Only equipment and charcoal supplied by the organizers are allowed.
Q: What do I need to bring?
A: 1. It is a “bring-‘n-braai” – meat, salad, etc.
2. Cutlery & crockery, braai utensils (no glass please)
3. Camp chairs
4. Table if required
5. Umbrella for shade/rain
Please be considerate of other concert goer’s comfort and viewing of the stage when setting up your seating.
Q: What do I need to bring if I am not booked on a braai spot?
A: Seating is available on the stands only – camp chairs or picnic blankets are welcome if you want to sit on the field during the main concert.
Q: May I bring alcohol into the stadium?
A: Strictly no BYO alcohol. Cooks Gardens is a licensed premise and bag searches will be carried out. Alcohol will be sold on site.
Q: May I bring soft drinks into the stadium?
A: Yes, but not in glass containers and provided they are sealed.
Q: When will the braai take place?
A: The braai will start with a countdown at 17h00 and carry on until 19h00 where after braais will be removed from the field for the main concert to start. Braai spots may be set up and occupied, but nobody may braai until the official start at 17h00.
Q: When does the Bok van Blerk concert take place?
A: The main concert takes place after the big braai finishes at 19h00 and the braais have been removed.
Q: What will the format of the main concert be?
A: It is an open air concert with no seats other than on the stands. After removal of the braais from the field, all concert goer’s who did not take part in the braai, may move into the field area for the main concert.
Q: What happens if it rains?
A: The stage is covered and the show will proceed rain or shine unless the site is deemed unsafe. The area for the audience is open air – please come prepared for any kind of weather.
