For those who love to stroll around a traditional flea market, the Big Braai event has enlisted the support of a varied and interesting group of stall owners who will be set up on the day with an array of products and delicacies for you to buy.
There will be something for everyone – from delicious traditional cakes and pastries like Milk Tart and Koeksusters and Beskuit to ‘hot off the coals’ Boerewors Rolls and Ostrich Burgers.
No market could possibly be complete without a stall offering Biltong and Droewors and just along the way, you will be sure to find a friendly pancake place. Coffee and Tea is always available with Icecream and Milkshakes on offer too.
While the littlies are sipping on their milkshakes, there will be stalls set up to do magical transformations in the way of face painting.
Apart from all the fabulous choices facing you in the way of cuisine, there will be stalls offering South African groceries – (for all those little things that you just don’t find in New Zealand) and somewhere to lay your hands on a Super 14 shirt or a Springbok rugby jersey. Next time you find yourself lucky enough to be able to attend a big International sporting event; the South African flag that you definitely need to be fluttering over your heads in the stands, can be purchased at the Big Braai event in Wanganui!
Make sure you set aside enough time to wander around the stalls at this event and keep a few dollars handy for those ‘must have’ items.
